Free NHL Hockey Picks - December 28, 2007
I think the Panthers are the best play tonight, but here is what else is in store tonight.
Montreal Canadiens (+105) @ Florida Panthers (-125)
I like the Panthers. They've been hot lately, they're 4-1 in their last 5 games and averaging 3.4 goals per game in that stretch. Olli Jokinen has had the hot stick: a 6-game point streak and 12 points in his last 10 games. Montreal is 1-8 in their last 9 games following a win. Florida has won the first 2 meetings this year and won 3 of the 4 meetings between these teams last year.
Buffalo Sabres (+115) @ New Jersey Devils (-135)
Both teams have been hot recently, but the Devils have cooled off by going 4-4 after their 9-game winning streak. The Sabres were on a 5-game win streak, but were just topped off by the Senators. Pretty even matchup, but the edge goes to the Devils at home. These teams haven't faced each other this year yet, but they split games 2-2 last season.
Boston Bruins (+140) @ Carolina Hurricanes (-160)
The Bruins are on a 4-game skid, but the Hurricanes have been shaky lately: 4-6 in their last 10. I would stay away from this game, -160 is too steep.
San Jose Sharks (-125) @ St. Louis Blues (+105)
San Jose is an impressive 13-5 on the road and the home ice hasn't helped the Blues either: they've dropped their last 5 of 6 at home.
