NHL SMART BETS for October 9th

Posted by in NHL Picks on October 9th, 2009 | 3 Comments

Overall loss -4.2 units.

No shying away from last nights disaster. Had the lead or was tied going into the 3 period in 3 of the 5 games and still couldn’t find a win. The season is still early and there is still a ton of money to be made over the course of the NHL season.

1. Florida (+125) vs Carolina for 1 unit.

Only one play tonight. Hopefully we can get back on track and be set for a solid Saturday card.

Good Luck.

I wouldn’t put too much faith in the system your using. It’s rarely a good idea to take a weak team on the road against a strong team. You may get some winners on good odds, but there will be plenty of losses.

Florida over Carolina at home? I don’t see it happening. Islanders on the road over Ottawa — not gonna happen. Columbus on the road over San Jose — doubt it. The only game I could see winning was Colorado on the road over Nashville.

You have to analyze each game on a game-by-game basis.

  2. Brandon Phillips says:

The “Smart” money was on all the teams I played yesterday. There was huge line movements in those games. Some of them opened at +170 and were bet down to +130 even before the lined opened at the Hilton. With an underdog all you can expect is to close going into the third period. In 3 of the 5 they were winning or tied. I will take that every time.

I coulda told you taking another weak ass team like the Panthers on the road against a perennial top 5 contenders for the Cup like the Hurricanes would have resulted in another disaster.
